Dogbones & Axle Platens

The project scope was for the continuation of the current JLR models and facilities in Halewood, Liverpool, the production facilities needed to incorporate common features from existing models and future models, to locate the new axle platens onto the Dogbones and to the EMS carriers. 

The project work involved working with the new customer 3D Product CAD, understanding interfaces, applying best practice design and for the most efficient cost effective ways to manufacturing using our comprehensive CNC machine shop. 

Our front and rear axle tooling platens facilitate the assembly of the front and rear axle products along the skillet line. In addition, they are used to transport the axle assemblies to the chassis complete line. They are also used, when located on the marriage dog bone, to facilitate the final assembly of the complete chassis and powertrain to the vehicle; and facilitate the marriage process.
